LeBron is meeting his free agency suitors at the IMG offices in Cleveland today.
So picture this — LeBron, Jay-Z, and one of the richest freakin’ men in the world all at one table. Might be the first time in a long time LeBron is the poorest guy in the room … for now.
Mogul Jay-Z, the Nets billionaire owner Mikhail Prokhorov, and coach Avery Johnson all made a presentation and pitch to LeBron James to woo the basketball sensation to the New Jersey Nets.
The trio, along with several other team officials, made a 90-minute pitch to the two-time NBA MVP. James officially became a free agent at 12:01 today.
The Associated Press offered a detailed account of the meeting, but reports have sprouted in various media outlets.
“Prokhorov left with a few members of the Nets’ entourage at 12:43 p.m. Lagging a few minutes behind them was Jay-Z
, a close friend of James, who was sitting in the back seat of a black sedan leaving the garage as the Knicks’ motorcade – 2 sedans and 2 SUVs – pulled in,” the AP wrote.
Sources with AllHipHop.com revealed that Jay-Z may have had a private, albeit brief, meeting with James. Avery Johnson reportedly stated the meeting “went well.”
The sentiment echoed the New York Knicks views of their meeting right after the Nets.
“I think it went well,” New York coach Mike D’Antoni told The Associated Press. “But obviously everyone that gets the chance to talk to him will probably say same the same thing.”
James is expected to meet with the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Clippers tomorrow.

Looks like Jay-Z isn’t playin’. On Thursday, Jay-Z and Nets majority owner Mikhail Prokhorov plan on visting Akron, Ohio to recruit free agent LeBron James. By tomorrow though, Jay and his Russian homie will appear in this 225 x 95 foot mural created near the Knicks’ Madison Square Garden home. The new dynasty?

Check out the apartment that LeBron James was rumored to be touring the other day. It’s in the Time Warner Center (same building that JAY-Z has a Penthouse in) and it’s beautiful: hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, marble-covered bathroom, and an amazing view.
Apparently, the folks over at New York Magazine actually suggested that LeBron check it out, and he is said to have taken their advice. According to The Huffington Post, one of the brokers over at Prudential Douglas Elliman, Sherri Shang, was heard saying that she gave James a tour of the apartment.
It’s available for rent at $45,000 a month, or for purchase at $14.95 million.

50 is thirsty for a Jay-Z beef, can he even win that battle? As much of a Jay-Z fan I am, he’s too comfortable. Someone needs to test him an 50 is the one to do it. Jay-Z has no competition right now, but this is gonna be very interesting and show is real power in business.

Rapper Jay-Z was spotted court-side in his favorite pair of sunglasses, the same pair he has on almost 95% of the time, the Oliver Peoples Daddy B sunglasses ($325) in black. The Daddy B shades are 70s-retro unisex sunglasses hand-sculpted in a slightly over-sized Mod shape which are available in vintage-inspired colors. What sets them apart is the miniature pin-detail accents on the frame front and a distinctive keyhole bridge on the right. He was also seen wearing the Louis Vuitton Street Sneaker boot ($645), featuring Damier embossed patent calf leather. Jay-Z is a business genius, it’s interesting watching him on his quest to takeover the industry.

NOTABLE LINES:
I’m a grown ass man, I don’t sit on n****s laps and I ain’t look for any gifts out of Santa Claus lap.
N****s talk about compared to Sigie you wack, scrap I know you don’t want to talk about that, but since n****s talking lets talk about that.
Sh!t I witnessed, I can say sh!t that can make B look at you different.
The rapper Shawn called the police on me, cause I was front row at the Blueprint 3. I just wanted to see him MC, and reminisce when we were the R.O.C. But he called on the C O Ps, not only that he brought in the F E Ds. That’s telling me F you Sigie, so F you too and Bleek 3.
When I came home from a jail, doing my year and a day, you ain’t come 1 day to see me.
And you’ll never go to jail again, cause you knew I was the shooter. If my life was a movie Sigie would be the sequel.
Don’t get it f***ed up, this ain’t the greenlight for everyone to make a diss Jay-Z record. I still got love for the n***a, this is me taking my brother in the yard for 5 minutes. Cause I got a knot in my chest that needs to get unloosened. When you got love for a Mutha***** it don’t go away that easy, many people gonna walk in and out your life but only real friends leave footprints on your heart dog. But I think yours is fading in the sand. If me and you never talk again dog and I got to holla at you via MC on this mic, what up, how do you say, “Scream at Me.” The richest man ain’t the one with his first dollar dog, its the one who still got his first friend, Roc-a-fella for life, ITS THE ROC.

NEW YORK — If the Yankees were looking to change their tune heading into game two of the World Series, they couldn’t have picked better musical guests. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys rocked the sell-out crowd at Yankee Stadium with a raucous performance of the Big Apple anthem “Empire State of Mind.”
Decked out in his trademark Yankee fitted hat and matching jacket, Jay was looking to rally his team after a loss Wednesday. From the sound of things, he certainly did. The stadium thundered its approval after the duo’s performance.
“I made the Yankees hat more famous than a Yankee can,” he rapped from a stage placed in the outfield.
Swizz Beatz and Bruce Willis were among the many famous New Yorkers in attendance who swayed to the rapper’s lyrics.
“New Yoooorrrrk,” Keys sang from behind her piano before joining Jay-Z out front.
Images of the city flashed across several giant screens throughout the stadium.
The Yanks and the legendary MC already have a working relationship with each other. Derek Jeter uses “Empire State of Mind” as his at-bat music, and slugger Alex Rodriguez steps up to the batter’s box to the Roc Nation head honcho’s “Already Home.”
Jay-Z seemed to sense the moment and, as usual, rose to the occasion like Jeter would. “Let’s go,” he said afterward as he walked into the bowels of the stadium and climbed into the Maybach waiting for him.
After Thursday’s (October 29) game, the series shifts to Philadelphia, where the champs will host games three, four and (if necessary) five at Citizens Bank Ballpark.

Watch the Blueprint 3 album cover come to life in this fascinating behind-the-scenes video.
Jay-Z confirmed that the graphic that hit the Internet on Monday (August 3) — a gaggle of white instruments piled together in a corner with three red horizontal lines over them — is the artwork for Blueprint 3. “It’s the album cover,” Jay told us Tuesday in Brooklyn, on the set of his Roc-A-Wear commercial.
Jay said he chose to highlight the instruments on his cover because he felt they have been overlooked.
“These things are like the forgotten pieces in hip-hop,” Hov explained. “It’s still about music. It’s not about radio, making gimmicks — it’s still about making music. Those things are piled in the corner. These are the forgotten things about music. It’s still about music. It’s not about radio, it’s not about making gimmicks, it’s about music. The three stripes that everybody is asking about is made from the original [number] three. The first three they made on the wall was someone carving. If you look at [the number] 3, all they did was connect lines. The whole thing about this album, how I approached it, is that I wanted to make a new classic to start that all over again — to go back to making classic albums like the ones we grew up listening to.”
Jay is up for two VMAs. “I feel fantastic,” he said after hearing the news of the nominations.
Hov’s Blueprint 3 will be released on September 11.
